The Feature Packed Nokia N8
The much hyped release of the new Nokia N8 smartphone is almost here. The main reason for the hype is the incorporation of the brand’s new Symbian ^3 platform into the handset coupled with a huge variety of features and capabilities that will easily rival the likes of the iPhone and Blackberry. At the forefront of the huge list of features offered by the N8 is a twelve megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and full 720p HDMI support for the recording and playback of home made videos. After recording and editing your movies via the handset’s on board software editing suite, you will be able to playback your movies in the comfort of your home by using a non-standard cable connected to your television, but what makes it more special is the ability to output Dolby surround sound through the HDMI cable also. The 3.5″ liquid crystal touch screen display of the Nokia N8 will hold a resolution of 640 x 360 and contain up to 16.7 million colors. There are also a number of sensors incorporated into the design which should makes things much more interesting, such as an accelerometer, a digital compass, an ambient light detector and a proximity sensor. There is a mass of available applications in the online Ovi Store which will enable you to do things like updating your social networking sites, such as your Facebook and Twitter accounts, including the ability to upload photos to Facebook and synchronize Facebook events with your phones calendar. Another feature of the Nokia N8 that has been well highlighted by Nokia’s marketing department is the ability to watch Web TV from content providers such as CNN, E! Entertainment, Paramount and National Geographic. The Nokia N8 offers features that can easily compete with the rest of the phones available at the top end of the smartphone category, and it will be a tough choice for buyers, between this and the likes of the iPhone or the Blackberry.
